30 Day Breakaway - Results

Image
30 Day Breakaway is a running and strength training program from Beachbody OnDemand.  Please follow my affiliate LINK for more product information.  And...if you get a hankerin' to order something, please do so on my site so I get a small commission. Full disclosure - I did not finish this program.  I made it through three of the four weeks and decided to move on.  I knew from the first week that I wasn't going to like the strength training in this program.   Let's focus on what I did like, first. The treadmill runs - Oh gurrrl...if you have ever done any running on the treadmill and trying to figure out what to watch, getting bored of watching it, feeling alone and sorry for yourself that you can't run out doors at 5am - then these are for YOU.  Idalis and you run along the beaches and trails of Southern California.  She talks to you like she's your coach and the time just flies by.  There is a good mix of speedwork, tempo and easy runs....

#mbfa Muscle Burns Fat Advanced - Results

Image
I did it!!  I worked out every single day for 6 weeks!  I am so proud of myself and have really found a level of self esteem that has been hiding behind my sadness and inactivity - I feel about 50% back to normal! Muscle Burns Fat Advanced is a three-week muscle building program that I gave my initial reactions of  HERE .    Also, ya know, if you want to sign up for Beachbody On Demand – you can follow my affiliate  LINK  and I’ll get $10. Woot! This program was HARD.  If I hadn't already completed two programs (21 Day Fix & 9 Week Control Freak), I would have repeated #mbf Muscle Burns Fat at least one time before moving on to the advanced program.  Megan is a big fan of asymmetrical moves and they were pretty complicated in #mbfa. I had to modify a couple of the moves to accommodate my low back issues.  There was a single dumbbell snatch where you lifted the weight with one hand from the floor, pressed it up over head and then...

#mbfa - One Week Review

Image
#mbfa Muscle Burns Fat Advanced, is a 3-week muscle building program from Beachbody On Demand. For a more detailed product page, please visit my affiliate link HERE . This program follows the same format as #mbf Muscle Burns Fat, with the addition of the Megan Minute.  After the set, we perform one move for a whole minute.  Is a minute a long time?  YES.  The workouts are a little longer this time around, with the weight training days clocking in around 40 minutes and the others still around 25-30.  This series is truly an extension of #mbf with the same sounding workouts laid out in the same order every week.  We use the same equipment, dumb bells and a mat for floor work (if you are in the basement, like me) and the Bod Ropes.  These are just a style of indoor jump rope and are not essential to the program, in my opinion.  There are many styles and colors available on Amazon. This program is definitely a step up from #mbf.  I fe...

Today I finished #mbf Muscle Burns Fat.   It is a three-week muscle building program that I gave my initial reactions of HERE .   Also, ya know, if you want to sign up for Beachbody On Demand – you can follow my affiliate LINK and I’ll get $10. Woot! So – what can happen in three weeks?   Well, it’s different if it’s your first three weeks ever working out (or back to working out) like my experience with 21-Day Fix or if you’ve been working out for a while.   I started working out consistently in December, so I still consider myself a newbie. Here are my results from this program. I started to get up without complaint .   My alarm goes off at 5:00am – and I know there are people that say they are not morning persons, but trust…I am the OG hater of the a.m. hours.   My inner dialogue hasn’t changed so much as just turned the F off.   I’m like a robot in the morning. I noticed that I was able to get down the stairs in the morning without...

Week One Review - #mbf

Image
#mbf is a 3-week muscle building program from Beachbody On Demand. For a more detailed product page, please visit my affiliate link HERE . This program follows a pretty standard format.  There are four weight lifting days, two cardio days and a recovery/stretching day.  The days alternate to give muscle groups adequate rest with the recovery day at the end of the week. The workouts are right around 30 minutes long, with one being closer to 35 and one day of the week being just 25 minutes.  There is one bonus video which is a 10 minute ab workout. The only equipment used (I say used, not required)  is a light, medium and heavy set of dumb bells in addition to a unique piece of equipment - Bod Ropes.  Bod Ropes are handles with little foam balls on the end.  The instructor uses them in creative cardio intervals to simulate jumping rope.  They are actually pretty fun and I am really glad I went ahead and spent the $14.99 on the knock offs.  The ...
